Cell Biology and Cell Culture Lab

Managed design and construction of the Cell Biology Laboratory. This project was constructed adjacent to the microbiology lab. Pressure in this lab is controlled higher than the pressure in the microbiology lab. The building was upgraded with a new HVAC system (class 100,000), and utilities. Utilities included instrument air, liquid nitrogen, gaseous nitrogen, carbon dioxide, deionized water, and hot water. Terminal HEPAs were installed to meet room cleanliness requirements. The laboratory was designed and constructed for one-hour fire rating. Liquid nitrogen cryogenic piping was installed to supply four cryo-freezers.  An oxygen monitoring system was installed to monitor the oxygen levels in the lab. Room temperature and pressure were monitored and recorded via a BMS that interlocks with the building alarm.
