Fermentation Technology Facility

Performed project management for fermentation technology facility. The project consisted of a HVAC system, utilities, 5°C cold room, warm room, fermentation suites, tissue culture suite, and analytical suite. Utilites included instrument air, liquid nitrogen, gaseous nitrogen, argon, oxygen, carbon dioxide, millipore deionized water system, and plant steam. The new HVAC system is class 100,000 HEPA filtered air. The building's electrical and lighting systems were replaced. The structural work included a seismic upgrade and replacement of the existing roof. Interior finish included an epoxy flooring. The project was complicated due to the phase build out sequence. The fermentation technology lab was an important project with a critical completion date. The lab was set up for development of continuous fermentation process for the R&D facility, as opposed to using a typical batch fermentation process.
